From technical checks to the finish line: a TURE diary of number 447 inside the 2026 edition of the most beautiful race in the world.

The 1000 Miglia started before the first flag. On 7 June, everything was still quiet concentration: documents, technical checks, hands inside the car, small adjustments, the exact discipline that makes emotion possible.

    On 8 June, with the pre-race ceremony, the Porsche became part of the ritual. Number 447 was no longer just a number on a door; it was a promise.

    Then, on 9 June, the race found its rhythm: five days of timed trials, stamp controls, heat, waiting, roadsides, crowds and private moments shared between driver, navigator and car.

    The beauty of the 1000 Miglia is that it never belongs only to the route.

    It belongs to the small things: the hand that waves from a roadside, the marshal waiting under a tent, the silence inside the car before a timed section, the relief after a control, the sudden dignity of a town square when hundreds of historic cars pass through it.

    Andrea Galgano drove, Davide Montani navigated, and Princess Grace, our 1957 Porsche 356 A T1, carried number 447 from the first technical checks to the finish line.

    The car, the crew, the fatigue, the mistakes, the laughter, the heat, the concentration: all of it became part of the same object.

    The finish

    After 2,000 km, 144 timed trials, and 8 average speed tests against a field of 435 starters, we made it.

    We concluded in 70th place overall, 52nd by penalty, and 16th in Category 3. What an experience.
